The Bengal Chess Club is a great opportunity for active chess players who would like to play and improve their chess skills; and compete in Beacon Park’s Chess Masters Tournament. Dates for try-outs will be announced soon!
- Who: Students in grades 2–8 who can independently play a complete game of chess against an opponent.
- When: The club will meet Wednesdays after school, from 1:30 PM (or dismissal) until 2:20 PM on the following dates. The club ends at 2:20pm for ALL GRADES. Please pick up your child from the meeting room. If your child needs to go to Rainbow Rising or ELOP, please make necessary arrangements. The club meetings will run from the last week of September to mid-December (except holidays for Veterans Day and Thanksgiving)
- Where: Room 22 at school
- What’s Provided: Chess sets and clocks will be available for participants.
Club Registration
If you are interested in joining the club please attend the tryouts (dates coming soon!) where the players will be assessed on their ability to play a basic game of chess. We will have limited spots per grade level.
Participants will be grouped by skill level so everyone can play at a pace that’s fun and challenging. This year we will be introducing the mechanics of playing a timed game with clocks.
Registration Fee for club (tentative): $20 (Covers the cost of an athletic shirt and in-class treats/prizes)
